More about detectors
The Metal Detector business has grown extensivily over the last few years, not only in the USA and UK but also in many other countries throughout the world. There are many choices when it comes to purchase equipment, and, equally, many "biased" recommendations as to the suitability of many different models of detectors for specific hunting needs.
Many retailers, although by no means all of them, tend to recommend brands of equipment they hold an agency for regardless of customer's personal or specific needs. Choosing the "right" machine is of paramount importance, even when, it is true to say, most modern detectors will usually perform reasonably well in favourable ground conditions.
There are more than 300 different types from many different brands in every price range, many claiming to be the best performers with all the "must have" built in features, accessories, etc. making the choice even more daunting for the beginners or first time buyers.
So how does a beginner or someone with experience go about finding the right machine or a better replacement machine?
Many people are now purchasing equipment online perhaps to save money, or simply because after reading all the enticing literature from the manufacturers, they make an informed decision only to be disappointed when they get to find out all is not what it was claimed to be.
So make no mistake; if you want to make sure you get the most appropriate detector for your specific needs, there is only one sure way to go about it; purchase one or at least get the "right" information from the people who not only have full knowledge of the market, but they are also "actively" using the equipment where it matters, on the ground.
